CPAC

YouTube reportedly removes two days worth of videos from the 2022 CPAC conference, including videos featuring 17 former and sitting Congress members and more: Chairman of the American Conservative Union Matt Schlapp said that YouTube removed videos from two days of the 2022 Conservative Political Action Conference’s (CPAC) four-day semiannual conference from the CPAC channel. YouTube confirmed that videos were removed, according to a report from The Washington Examiner and an email sent to CensorTrack. The Examiner article stated that YouTube Policy Communications Manager Ivy Choi claimed that an unconfirmed number of videos were removed from CPAC’s channel “for violating our election integrity policy,” though Schlapp told The Examiner that “many speakers did not focus on the election.” Schlapp explained that he had received a notice that former President Donald Trump’s speech had been removed, and the channel was issued a strike for misinformation as a result. However, he claimed that he was not alerted to any of the other removals, and only noticed over the last few days that the videos were missing.

The videos removed included panels and speeches featuring a large number of notable people. The Examiner article listed Trump, current Sens. Bill Hagerty (R-TN), John Kennedy (R-LA), Rick Scott (R-FL) and James Lankford (R-OK). Also included in The Examiner’s report were current Reps. Ronny Jackson (R-TX), Jim Jordan (R-OH), Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), Mark Green (R-TN), Lauren Boebert (R-CO), Darrell Issa (R-CA), Mike Kelly (R-PA), Matt Gaetz (R-FL), Jody Hice (R-GA) and Kat Cammack (R-FL). Former Sen. David Perdue (R-GA) and former Reps. Devin Nunes (R-CA) and Bob Beauprez (R-CO) were also in videos that were reportedly removed according to The Examiner.

Rep. Andy Biggs (R-AZ) posted a list of some of the individuals whose videos were censored to his Twitter account. In addition to those already mentioned, Gov. Kevin Stitt (OK), five former U.S. Ambassadors and six former Cabinet-level secretaries, including Larry Kudlow, were also in videos reportedly removed, according to Biggs’ list. A second image that Biggs tweeted included still more notable names featured in videos that were reportedly removed, including Donald Trump, Jr., singer Lee Greenwood, Republican National Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel, author and U.S. Senate candidate JD Vance and TV personality and U.S. Senate candidate Dr. Mehmet Oz.

In an episode of CPAC Now: America UnCanceled, Schlapp, seeming to be reading from the same list that Biggs tweeted, also noted that 15 members of the media were in videos reportedly removed. According to Schlapp, these included: Pete Hegseth and Sara Carter from Fox News; Sean Davis and Mollie Hemingway from The Federalist; Rachel Bovard, also from The Federalist and a board advisor for MRC Free Speech America; radio hosts Mark Levin, Larry Elder, Sebastian Gorka, Buck Sexton and Todd Starnes; The Washington Times opinion editor Charles Hurt; journalist Jack Posobiec and Newsmax host Eric Bolling.
