Instagram placed a sensitive content filter over a video posted by Charlie Kirk: Conservative commentator Charlie Kirk posted a video showing, in his words, "A transgender, biological male student sneak[ing] up on a female student at Hazelbrook Middle School in Tualatin, Oregon. He SLAMS her to the floor before pulling her hair and punching her in the face multiple times." Instagram placed a "Sensitive Content" warning over the video that reads "This video contains content that some people may find upsetting." In its explanation of the video, Instagram noted that "This post doesn’t go against our Community Standards, but may contain images that some people might find upsetting." Users must then click a link to continue to view the video. Instagram has controls for sensitive content, however these controls do not allow users to remove interstitials over posts altogether, only how many of these types of posts they see. According to Facebook, Instagram's sister-company, users fail to click through similar interstitials 95% of the time.
