X community adds a context note to ADL post: The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) posted "White supremacist & Holocaust denier Nick Fuentes is praising Candace Owens' vitriolic antisemitism. It's hardly surprising, but it does set off alarm bells: When bigoted people come together to push an antisemitic agenda, it adds fuel to the fire of hate." The post included a link to a MediaMatters article headlined "Holocaust denier Nick Fuentes celebrates Candace Owens: 'She has been in a full-fledged war against the Jews.'" The X community added a note to the post that read: "Readers added context they thought people might want to know. Owens never says anything antisemitic; rather, she explains a Christian perspective of the behavior of specific individuals. Whether this made Nick Fuentes happy or not is irrelevant to her claims." The label is part of X’s Community Notes system. X users are able to sign up as contributors to add context to posts. X owner Elon Musk shared that any post with a Community Note added to it will be demonetized. The Community Notes account on X also posted that notices will be pushed to users who previously engaged with a post when a Community Note is added to it later. The note was later removed.
