It’s Episode 37 of CensorTrack with TR. This week we talked about the left’s newest tool to strip and limit free speech — the Disinformation Governance Board.
President Joe Biden’s Department of Homeland Security created the Disinformation Governance Board (DGB) to stop so-called “disinformation.” The board will, at least in part, dictate what information is and isn’t allowed in the public square.
Commentators are calling the board the ‘Ministry of Truth’ — and for good reason. This board will serve as the speech police for the federal government. DGB is just a new way to tell Americans not what is actually true and false, but what Americans should think is true and false. It was created to erase any speech that deviates from that “truth.”
DHS reportedly told the Associated Press in an official statement, “The spread of disinformation can affect border security.” What the DGB really aims to protect is the reputation of the Biden administration.
This protect the left tactic is the same sort of method used by Big Tech. MRC’s CensorTrack.org database has close to 4,000 cases of biased online censorship, and the DGB will only add to the left’s anti-free-speech body of work.
The leader of the DGB, Nina Jankowicz, is also a radical leftist. She notoriously downplayed the Hunter Biden laptop scandal and pushed the false Trump-Russia collusion narrative. She’s the perfect candidate if DHS and Biden want ONLY their leftist side of the story promoted.
The DGB is an attempt to advance an Orwellian society. It is no different than the way that the Chinese government pushes propaganda. This is terrifying.
