Media Research Center (MRC) President David Bozell joined Larry O’Connor on the O'Connor & Company show Tuesday morning to discuss the White House's recent ban on CNN, MS NOW and Politico due to their overt bias and negative coverage of President Trump and his administration.
In an April 2025 study, the MRC found that 92% of the media coverage during President Trump’s first 100 days of his second term was negative. Bozell provided some examples: “Unhinged MSNBCers keep comparing Trump to Hitler. Quote, Donnie Deutsch: 'I'm not saying Trump is going to slaughter 6 million Jews, but…’ That's a hell of a 'but.' And then there's the Covington story. CNN and NBC spent over 53 minutes trying to smear the Covington students, and these are just some of the greatest hits that we've pulled out.”

Bozell concluded with personal praise for President Trump's ability to deal with the vitriolic press that vilifies him at every possible moment: “The president of the United States is one of one, where he has a unique ability to thrive on negative press. Not many politicians could do it. Imagine waking up every day and seeing all this negative vitriol against you. And he kind of digs it.”

Ultimately, Bozell explained that biased, relentlessly negative coverage from White House reporters deprives the American people of the news they deserve and deepens their distrust in legacy media.
