MRC Founder and President Brent Bozell underscored the significant implications of Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s plan to relocate part of his “trust and safety” team out of California, which Zuckerberg himself described as “ground zero of the far left.”
During a Wednesday interview on WMAL’s O’Connor and Company, Bozell stated that Zuckerberg’s vow to move the team responsible for Meta’s censorship to Texas is the most important part of the Big Tech company’s 180-degree shift on censorship. Bozell suggested this indicates that Zuckerberg recognizes that rank-and-file employees are out of touch with the majority of Americans.
“He said he’s firing everybody who was involved with [censorship], but here’s the kicker—it sounds kind of silly but it isn't,” Bozell began, “he said he is moving those operations to Texas.” This drew approval from radio host Larry O’Connor, who chimed in: “That was the biggest part of the whole statement, Brent. You’re so right.”

ICYMI: Brent Bozell on Newsmax: Zuckerberg ‘Groveled,’ But Conservatives Should Be Wary
Bozell’s comments came after Zuckerberg shockingly announced that Meta is “restoring free expression” by getting rid of leftist fact checkers, lifting restrictions on immigration and gender-related topics and changing the enforcement of its speech policies.
Zuckerberg also mentioned relocating part of his team from its Palo Alto, California headquarters, seemingly in a bid to curb further leftist bias. Bozell suggested these changes are genuine, noting Zuckerberg has previously acknowledged California’s deep entrenchment in leftist politics.
“When a number of us met with him several years ago, he began the meeting by saying–making the statement that I thought was astonishing, and I think I can quote him directly. He said, ‘You’re seated at ground zero of the far left, and we have no idea who you are,’” Bozell recounted.
Addressing Zuckerberg’s plan to move to Texas, Bozell added: “What was astonishing was both ends of that. One, he’s acknowledging how radical they were, and secondly, acknowledging how out of touch they were with at least half of the American people. … I’ve had conversations with him where I have believed that he truly does believe in the open marketplace of ideas if only because the Facebook business formula needs that to survive.”
While Bozell welcomed Zuckerberg’s changes, he predicted that some issues would persist. “Problems are going to continue. No question about it. But I do believe those problems will now be the exception to the rule, that the rules have changed.”
