Podcast host Joe Rogan celebrated President-elect Donald Trump's pledge to end the censorship regime against American citizens while sharing the reluctance of artists to show support for the Republican candidate.

During the Nov. 14 episode of The Joe Rogan Experience, Rogan revealed that several personalities, including musicians and comedians, are sick and tired of the outgoing administration’s use of Big Tech to censor Americans’ free speech. He continued to convey that these people were scared to express their support for Trump because of it.

“Do you know how many artists have reached out to me … that thanked me for endorsing Trump because they can’t do it,” Rogan told his guest and civil rights lawyer Josh Dubin. “They said they want to, but they don’t want to be attacked. They can’t say it.”

He continued to share the consensus of prominent artists, saying, “They think the country is going in the wrong direction, they think that this control of social media by the government which we would have had pretty much fully if it wasn't for Elon [Musk] buying Twitter.”

Rogan continued rebuking the idea of government-endorsed censorship on social media platforms against American citizens. He expressed, “This is a dangerous precedent to set, whether it’s a right-wing government or a left-wing government … It’s a dangerous path that we were on, we were on that path.”

Praising the president-elect’s free speech agenda for his upcoming administration, Rogan shared: “Trump has vowed to have free speech become a very important part of what he is standing for and that this censoring of information needs to stop, and we need to stop all government influence in what people have to say.” Dubin agreed with Rogan, affirming, “That shouldn't be as revolutionary as it is.”
