After years of Big Tech censors aggressively targeting him for alleged health “misinformation,” Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has been confirmed as Donald Trump’s Health and Human Services Secretary.

Kennedy and his presidential campaign were censored dozens of times, as recorded in MRC’s unique CensorTrack database and exposed by The Twitter Files. It is particularly striking that Kennedy will now head a federal government agency after previous federal officials, including former White House press secretary Jen Psaki, urged social media to censor him for supposed “misinformation.”

The Biden White House specifically singled out Kennedy and pressured Twitter to silence his views on COVID-19 vaccines just two days after Biden took office, according to The Twitter Files and documents collected by Rep. Jim Jordan. Another installment of the Twitter Files revealed that pharmaceutical companies pressured Big Tech to censor COVID-19-related speech such as Kennedy’s. Such pressure resulted in repeated censorship.

As recorded in CensorTrack, Kennedy has been personally censored at least 23 times. For instance, in November 2023, Google suppressed Kennedy’s website in searches for “presidential campaign websites” and “independent presidential campaign websites” while he was running for president against Joe Biden. Meta also admitted in exclusive comments to MRC Free Speech America that Instagram’s suspension of Kennedy’s account in 2023 was in “error.” And in May 2024, both Facebook and Instagram blocked links to WhoIsBobbyKennedy.com a website for a documentary about Kennedy.

Indeed, Kennedy’s sites and related accounts have been repeatedly censored, bringing the total number of times that he has been censored far above 23. YouTube in 2023 censored multiple interviews of Kennedy, including one with Dr. Jordan Peterson. Back in April 2020, at the height of the COVID-19 controversy, Mailchimp disabled the account for Children’s Health Defense, an organization Kennedy chaired at the time.

Amidst the censorship, Kennedy has frequently emphasized the importance of free speech, both through his lawsuit against the federal government and in statements during the recent election season. He stated in November that he and Trump “are joining forces to defeat government corruption, restore free speech, and Make America Healthy Again.”

Conservatives are under attack. Contact your representatives and demand that Big Tech be held to account to mirror the First Amendment while providing transparency, clarity on so-called hate speech and equal footing for conservatives.
