A country music artist says Big Tech censored his patriotic song about making America great again.

Brian Kelley released the single “Make America Great Again” on streaming platforms following his performance at the 2024 Republican National Convention (RNC). He is now accusing tech companies Apple, Amazon and Instagram of censoring the pro-Donald Trump song.

Kelley told Fox News Digital that he had been keeping an eye out for potential censorship. He noticed the issue when Apple Music reportedly did not show the “share” button for his song. “I thought it was kind of strange,” he said.

After Kelley tagged Apple on social media, the platform apparently  corrected the censorship. “Maybe it was a bug. Maybe it was something else, but it shouldn't be that hard to just utilize the same tools that I've been utilizing with other songs,” the musician said.

Apple was not the only company that seemingly targeted Kelley’s song. His band members’ wives reported an issue when they asked Amazon’s Alexa to “play Brian Kelley.” Instead, Alexa started playing singer Brian McKnight. “I love Brian McKnight,” Kelley stated. “He’s great, but it’s just those things that are really, really interesting where it makes you think, it makes you wonder.” Did Alexa make mistakes or not?

Meta-owned Instagram censorship was a little more obvious, according to Kelley. Positive comments on his song were hidden by the platform. “I've never really had that problem,” he said.

While Spotify omitted Kelley’s song from its new releases playlists, he said, Spotify is usually “good” to him.

“At the end of the day, this is nothing new. This is somewhat expected at this point when it comes to Big Tech censorship,” the musician argued. His song specifically mentions free speech.

Kelley slammed Google’s search suppression of information about the Trump assassination attempt. “We just have to be louder, and we just can't back down,” Kelley declared. “We have to continue to get our message out there. We have to continue to fight. We have to not be afraid to speak our minds and stand for what we believe in and stand on our truth.”

Kelley praised former President Trump and expressed his excitement that Trump liked the song. “Right before he posted on Truth Social, he sent through my production manager a text message,” Kelley told Fox. “It was a really, really sweet message. It was amazing. It felt great. It felt unreal.”
