Twitter owner Elon Musk didn’t mince words about the major threat that the explosion of artificial intelligence technology poses to society. He also blew the lid off the true severity of the government’s access to Twitter users’ data.
“What is happening is that they're training the AI to lie,” Musk told Fox News host Tucker Carlson during the Apr. 17 edition of Tucker Carlson Tonight. He said that AI was being trained to “either comment on some things, not comment on other things, but not to say what the data actually demands that it say.”
Musk stated that Google in particular had a near monopoly on AI talent going back years and rebuked former Google CEO Larry Page as not seeming “to care about [AI] safety.” What Page was vying for in his AI pursuits at Google, said Musk, was the equivalent of a “digital god.”
"Musk nailed it! The left is trying to replace actual truth with their false reality," MRC Free Speech America Vice President Dan Schneider said in a statement.
Tucker asked Musk if it was “conceivable that AI could take control and reach a point where you couldn't turn it off and it would be making the decisions for people?” Musk agreed that this was in fact a possibility: “Absolutely.”
Musk said that he was “worried about the fact that it's being trained to be politically correct, which is simply another way of being untruthful, saying untruthful things… that is certainly a path to AI dystopia, is to train AI to be deceptive.” In response, Musk promised to create a more honest artificial intelligence of his own called “TruthGPT”.
Over the course of the segment, Musk also addressed the Twitter Files, which helped expose an entire network of Big Tech-Government collusion to censor Americans. Musk confirmed that federal intelligence agencies’ reach into Twitter’s apparatus was even worse than previously reported. According to Musk, government agencies had access to Twitter users’ direct messages.
In response to a question from Tucker on the government’s involvement with Twitter, Musk chillingly stated: “The degree to which various government agencies had effectively had full access to everything that was going on at Twitter blew my mind. I was not aware of that.”
Schneider also responded to Musk’s grim assessment of the threat of Big Tech. “Elon Musk has identified a kernel of truth here,” Schneider said. “Today’s Democrats and the Deep State are colluding with big tech to try to manipulate us, to try to build a society in their image.”
But even leftist Big Tech giants have proven on their own to be just as fanatical in achieving their political goals as the government entities they colluded with. Musk disparaged Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s election spending, ripping how he was willing to spend “$400 Million in the last election, normally in a get out the vote campaign but fundamentally in support of Democrats.”
That followed Facebook’s suppression of the Hunter Biden laptop scandal in 2020, which Zuckerberg himself admitted was censored after being primed by the FBI to be on the lookout for so-called “Russian propaganda."
