According to a Nov. 18 Reuters article by Sue Zeidler, a group of network television writers met in Los Angeles this week “to discuss how incorporating the growing threat of climate change into primetime storylines could inspire viewers to live green.”
The meeting was hosted by the Population Media Center, a left-leaning non-governmental organization whose mission is to “bring about stabilization of human population numbers” and to “lessen the harmful impact of humanity on the earth’s environment.” It does this “through the use of entertainment-education strategies, like serialized dramas on radio and television, in which characters evolve into role models for the audience for positive behavior change,” according to its website.
