Washington Post columnist Anne Applebaum compared the recent surge in the stock market to … you guessed it… Nazi Germany.
On Jan. 25, 2017, she tweeted to keep in mind that “in Nazi Germany, the stock market rose and rose and kept rising, right up to Stalingrad.”
This came the day the Dow Jones Industrial Average eclipsed 20,000 points. Though experts credit President Donald Trump’s election and his platform for the recent stock market surge, liberals have tried their best to ignore the connection.
just remember: in Nazi Germany, the stock market rose and rose and kept rising, right up to Stalingrad

It’s a bizarre take on the market’s historic day, it’s nothing new for liberals to link Trump to Nazi Germany. Her tweet was reminiscent of actress Ashley Judd’s recent Trump tirade at the Women’s March where she called Trump and his team “Nazis” among other things.
Applebaum has written other bizarre things critical of Trump, including an article claiming he is “really a Russian oligarch.”
