Alec Schemmel is a Staff Writer/Researcher for the Media Research Center’s Free Speech America. He previously spent time with The Daily Caller and his work has appeared in other places, including The Western Journal, The College Fix and InfluenceWatch.org. Schemmel graduated in May 2020 with a BA in Journalism and Political Science from American University. While in college, he wrote for numerous campus publications and also interned on Capitol Hill. Originally, he is from Charlotte, NC, but currently lives in the D.C. Metro area.
