Twitter censors user for mocking Toronto Police Service for bragging about getting an antique gun "#offthestreets": A Twitter user noticed that the Toronto Police Service Guns Seized Twitter account sent a tweet worthy of mockery. The tweet said "#offthestreets this week" and showed a picture of an antique handgun. The user could not let the opportunity pass him, by, and replied: "@TPSGunsSeized Jack Sparrow called, he wants his gun back. Did you send this lithograph to twitter via carrier pigeon? I sincerely hope you put that scoundrel in the stocks after you tarred and feathered him." Strangely, the user was forced to delete the tweet and received a 12 hour account restriction, while the comment below his, which began "If only you'd been quicker, Abraham Lincoln..." was still visible. Twitter claimed that his tweet violated its "rules against abuse and harassment," but not every mocking reply seems to have received the same treatment. The user commented: "Authoritarian regimes don't like it when you hurt their feelings."
