X community adds a context note to WCCO - CBS News Minnesota post: The X account for WCCO | CBS News Minnesota posted "Trump falsely accuses Harris of donating to Minnesota Freedom Fund, bailing out 'dangerous criminals.'" The post linked to an article about the subject. The X community added a note to the post that read: "Readers added context they thought people might want to know. On June 1, 2020, at 3:34 PM Minnesota Time, Kamala Harris tweeted 'If you’re able to, chip in now to the @MNFreedomFund to help post bail for those protesting on the ground in Minnesota.' The tweet contained a donation link. This tweet has not been deleted and is available at: x.com/kamalaharris/s…" The label is part of X’s Community Notes system. X users are able to sign up as contributors to add context to posts. X owner Elon Musk shared that any post with a Community Note added to it will be demonetized. The Community Notes account on X also posted that notices will be pushed to users who previously engaged with a post when a Community Note is added to it later.
