Vivek Ramaswamy

Twitter community adds a context note to Vivek Ramaswamy tweet:  Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy's official Twitter account tweeted, “I’ve said countless times that I’m willing to use our military to annihilate Mexican drug cartels south of our border if necessary. But now it turns out that the US military weapons that we sent to *Ukraine*, including Javelin anti-tank missiles & missile launchers, are ending up in the hands of Mexican drug cartels south of our border. This is an embarrassment. I will restore basic strategic sense to our foreign policy & that means gutting the existing establishment.”  Twitter added a label to the post that read "Readers added context they thought people might want to know.” The added context read "The source for this claim is a recent video of a Cartel member carrying an AT-4. It's very common, operated by more than 31 countries. The FGM-148 Javelin that this tweet mentions is not shown to be in Mexico. Good thread on this is available here:" The context note also included several links to support the note. The label is part of Twitter’s Community Notes system. Twitter users are able to sign up as contributors to add context to tweets.
