YouTube puts context label on GOP presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy’s video: YouTube imposed a fact-checking label on presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy’s March 3 video, “Artificial Intelligence.” The video showed Ramaswamy discussing the problem with AI as he sees it. Ramaswamy addressed the potential for harm that could occur when people place too much trust in AI as an authority in answering moral questions such as what to do about climate change. Because he mentioned climate change as one example of the harm that AI poses, YouTube attached a context label to the video that linked to the United Nations and claimed, “Climate change refers to long-term shifts in temperatures and weather patterns, mainly caused by human activities, especially the burning of fossil fuels.” A 2022 study found that atmospheric CO2 from fossil fuels was too low to cause global warming.
