YouTube censors Uncle Tom II documentary preview: After the 2020 success of the Uncle Tom documentary, producers including Larry Elder created a follow-up documentary called Uncle Tom II. They describe the film as "an odyssey depicting the gradual demoralization of America through Marxist infiltration of its institutions. The film explores how this deceptive ideology has torn apart the fabric of society while us." Elder encouraged his followers to go to YouTube to view the first 20 minutes of the film for free. Despite the fact that the clip opens with a warning that read "Uncle Tom II contains graphic images and explicit language. Viewer discretion is advised," YouTube added more layers of warnings to the video that amounted to censorship. The film was slapped with a sensitive content filter that advised it "may contain graphic or violent imagery," and required users to click that they understand in order to continue to view the video. Additionally, YouTube age restricted the video. Age restrictions place significant limitations on YouTube videos. Documentarian and CEO of Good Kid Productions Rob Montz explained this concern in an op-ed for The Daily Wire after YouTube age-restricted one of his videos in December of 2022. “In practice, age restriction is a death knell: The video can’t be embedded on external websites; viewers have to sign in before they can watch it; and it receives scant – if any – boost from YouTube’s recommendation algorithm, which is a crucial source of views,” Montz said.
