Twitter locks account of local department of public safety and forces it to delete two tweets instructing locals how to sign up for emergency preparedness alerts: Twitter locked the account of a local public safety department from Sunnyvale, California, and forced it to delete two tweets instructing locals how to sign up for emergency preparedness alerts. "Dear @Twitter, your appeals page kept freezing on us so we had no choice but to delete this tweet otherwise we’d continue to be locked out of our account," tweeted the Sunnyvale DPS twitter account. "Not quite sure how sharing #EmergencyPreparedness tips violates terms of usage." The account indicated two separate tweets had to be deleted. "Just did it again, it’s when we attach a video of a screen recording, with a voice over, of where to go to sign up for alerts," the account stated in a follow-up tweet. Screenshots of Twitter's notices, posted by the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety account, did not indicate exactly what about the tweet violated the platform's rules. Sunnyvale is covered by California's 17th and 18th congressional districts, which are represented by Rep. Ro Khanna (D) and Rep. Anna Eshoo (D) respectively.
