Facebook bans ads from campaign petitioning to recall Calif. Gov. Gavin Newsom: Reform California is a group currently circulating petitions to recall the Governor of California Gavin Newsom. Red State has reported that Facebook notified the group it will no longer accept the placement of its ads to recall Newsom. Reform California appealed the decision to Facebook but has not yet heard back, according to Red State. Based on Red State's reporting Facebook restricted Reform California's ads because it marked the group for potentially violating rules against encouraging violence or disseminating misinformation that could inspire such violence. Facebook has been purging its platform of groups it believes helped foment the violence that besieged the Capitol on Jan. 6. Red State said Facebook is "attempting to tie non-violent people and movements to the actions of a violent few."
