YouTube suspends Canadian digital outlet Rebel News for a week due to 3 month old video criticizing Big Tech's silencing of Trump: Rebel News's Ezra Levant took to Twitter to tell everyone that YouTube did exactly what his outlet had been expecting it to do: suspend their channel. "A few weeks ago, YouTube fired its first shot at Rebel News," read a blog from Rebel News referring to YouTube's demonetization of its channel, and "just as Ezra predicted, YouTube is continuing to come after us. This time, they've suspended the Rebel News YouTube page and given us a 'strike.'" This means the outlet cannot upload new content, or live stream for an entire week, said the Rebel News blog post about their suspension. In a tweet, Levant claimed the Rebel News channel, which has over 1.45 million subscribers, had never before received a strike from YouTube. He said in another tweet that the three month old video about Big Tech's silencing of Donald Trump "breaks none of [YouTube's] rules," and that YouTube is "under pressure from @JustinTrudeau & @s_guilbeault to shut [them] down before the Canadian election."
