YouTube demonetizes Canadian digital news outlet Rebel News: YouTube has demonetized the channel of Canadian digital news outlet Rebel News. A notice from YouTube sent to Rebel News' founder Ezra Levant indicated that the action was "due to repeated violations of YouTube's Ad-friendly guidelines, including those related to harmful and dangerous acts, along with other channel monetization policies." The notice continued, clarifying that "The Rebel News channel has been suspended from the YouTube Partner Program and, as a result, its monetization on YouTube has been suspended." YouTube did not provide Rebel News with any specific examples of the content that broke it's YouTube Partner Program policies. According to a report from Rebel News the move is going to cost them a projected $400,000 annually.
