Twitter user censored for proper and acceptable use of word "retard": In another case of a bad Twitter algorithm, a user's account was locked and he was asked to delete a tweet in which he properly used a word that is offensive in other contexts. Twitter's algorithm is infamously unable to determine proper context when it auto-bans such tweets. The tweet in question read: "Well in that case you prob have to retard in order to avoid [house fire] .... I've seen 'retards spoilage' on many things." Twitter, according to a screenshot shared by the user, claimed this was "hateful conduct," obviously in reference to that pejorative use of the word "retard." The user claimed that he was able to dispute the censorship, though he was unclear whether the appeal was successful.
