A user told CensorTrack that Twitter removed a tweet criticizing the term 'transphobia:' A Twitter user told CensorTrack that Twitter restricted his account for 7 days and removed a tweet that read "Transphobia is not a thing. Transsexualism is a mental illness." He claims he "attached a lengthy article by two eminent psychiatrists from Johns Hopkins making that argument." Dr. Paul R. McHugh, Johns Hopkins Hospital's former psychiatrist-in-chief and its current Distinguished Service Professor of Psychiatry is most famous for making the argument described by the user. In a Wall Street Journal OpEd McHugh said that those who identify as transgender are suffering from a "mental disorder" and he called a sex change "biologically impossible." Twitter restricted the user's account for at least 6 days according to screenshots because the platform "determined that [the user had] violated the Twitter Rules. The platform limited his account features allowing him "to only send[ ] direct messages to [his] followers — no Tweets, Retweets, Fleets, follows, or likes," according to a screenshot.
