Twitter places sensitive content filter over a picture of hummingbird and flower: Matt Barber, a conservative author, cultural analyst and syndicated columnist, tweeted an image of a hummingbird and a flower. He captioned the photo with a defense of creation by intelligent design (as opposed to evolution by random mutation). Barber wrote, "Lightning striking a mud puddle, chemical reactions, time, chance & random mutations can’t lead to this kind of design & fine-tuning. Superior intelligence is required. Mutations cause degradation, never improvement. Darwinian evolution violates the 2nd Law of Thermodynamics." Interestingly, Twitter placed a sensitive content filter over not the caption but the photo, forcing users to click through the interstitial to view the image. Not only do such filters give the impression of violent or obscene content, but similar filters have been shown to reduce user interaction with content.
