Facebook suspends account run by North Carolina Sherriff's Office: The Madison County Sheriff's Office, located in North Carolina's 11th congressional district, had its Facebook account suspended after it made a post supporting the American flag, according to the Sheriff. The post was in response to and support of a local small business owner who received backlash from other community members for flying an American flag outside her business. Sheriff Buddy Harwood was reportedly disturbed that the department's post would be taken down. "Yeah, I'm offended. My God, we've got lives that have been lost, battles that have been fought for this country, for the United States of America," Harwood said according to ABC affiliate WLOS. Harwood told WLOS that the only explanation the department received from Facebook for the Page's suspension read, "If you think this doesn't go against our Community Standards, let us know." Harwood said the suspension was very concerning because the department uses the platform to share vital information with the community.
