YouTube suspends, then reinstates police department over violent content: KTLA5 reported that YouTube suspended the Los Angeles Police Department’s channel after the department had posted a video showing a violent assault that occurred in Venice in September 2023. LAPDHQ posted on X Oct. 28, “The YouTube channel for LAPD HQ has been temporarily suspended after we posted a video of a brutal attack in Pacific Division asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspects. We have appealed the suspension and have been denied.” Subsequently, LAPD posted on X Oct.29, “Update: YouTube has reached out to us and has restored the LAPDHQ account. The brutal attack has been removed. Our scheduled public information and content will resume as usual.”
