X censors James Lindsay account: X (formerly Twitter) restricted the account of James Lindsay, author and cultural critic. On Nov. 15, users visiting Lindsay's X profile received a warning message that stated "Caution: This account is temporarily restricted. You're seeing this warning because they may have potentially violated our Rules. Do you still want to view it?" Users were able to click through the message to view Lindsay's profile. However, once his account was restored, Lindsay reported that he was unable to respond to direct messages he received. It is likely that there were other restrictions placed on Lindsay's account to prevent him from posting or performing other actions aside from viewing his X feed, but he did not report on this. It was also unclear what led to this temporary account restriction, but Lindsay seemed to believe that it was due to a disagreement he was having with another user on X in which he referred to radical feminists as "hags."
