YouTube removes video of Trump's CPAC speech from British news channel: British online newspaper The Independent hosted a livestream of former president Donald Trump's Texas CPAC speech on August 6, 2022 on its YouTube channel. Sometime between August 20 and September 28 YouTube removed the video and replaced it with a message stating that the video had "been removed for violating YouTube's Community Guidelines." It is unclear which guidelines were violated. Free Speech America reached out to YouTube for comment, and received the following statement from a spokesperson: "We removed content from the The Independent channel for violating our election integrity policy, which prohibits content that advances false claims that widespread fraud occurred in the 2020 U.S. presidential election, such as claims that the election was stolen or rigged. While we do allow content with educational, documentary, scientific or artistic context, such as countervailing views, the content we removed from this channel did not provide sufficient context."
