Facebook censors Pastor Greg Young’s page: Greg Young, a pastor and radio host of Chosen Generation Radio, runs a Facebook page called “Impeach Democrats.” According to screenshots, Facebook placed a warning label on his page. The label says, “Your Page is not recommendable. Content on your Page is preventing it from being suggested to people. Let’s help you be recommendable again,” and has a button that says, “Learn more.” Also per the screenshots, Facebook explains, “We’re no longer suggesting your Page to people. People can still find and like your Page but we don’t recommend Pages that include any of these: Learn how recommendations works.” Facebook then lists a variety of reasons for why a page is not recommended. These reasons include “Admins” and “Pages” “with a history of violating Community Standards,” and “Topic of Page is focused on civics, vaccines, or other sensitive subjects.” Facebook’s Community Standards are meant to “create a place for expression and give people a voice,” while also keeping the platform “a safe place.” Examples of prohibited material are “violent and graphic content,” “spam,” “adult nudity,” and “fraud.” It is unclear why Facebook censored Young. Facebook did not provide further explanation of what particular standard Young’s page violated. Facebook also did not point to any specific content that Young had posted which was problematic. Young has been censored multiple times.
