Ian Miles Cheong

Twitter censors Ian Miles Cheong for tweet about Trans Day of Vengeance: Twitter censored Ian Miles Cheong, according to a purported screenshot shared by Raheem J. Kassam.  While a screenshot of his censorship notice was not available, there was a missing tweet in his feed from March 28 that noted that "This Tweet violated the Twitter Rules." At the time, Cheong was tweeting about the Nashville shooting and the Trans Day of Vengeance. It appears Twitter censored every post about the Trans Day of Vengeance, even if the post criticized the event. Twitter VP of Trust and Safety Ella Irwin tweeted that "The graphic was reported by a high number of users across our platform yesterday and yes, I'm sure the timing of that was due to heightened sensitivity to the language, given the tragic events in Nashville. We always evaluate tweets driving a sudden spike in user complaints."
