Facebook bans gun shop's ad selling safes and vaults to store firearms: Facebook yanked a gun shop's paid advertisement that was selling safes and vaults to “secure guns from unauthorized use." According to Facebook the ad was rejected because it violated the platform's advertising guidelines. "Ads may not promote firearms, ammunition or weapons (ex: paintball guns, BB guns, knives, etc)," said Facebook in its correspondence with the shop, according to the Washington Examiner. "This decision is final. Please consider this the end of our correspondence about your ad.” The shop attempted to reiterate to Facebook one more time that the ad is promoting "a sale on safes and vaults" and it "does NOT promote firearms, ammunition or weapons.” It didn't matter though, Facebook kept it's word and never gave any further explanation.
