Twitter reduces the number of likes shown on a reply but still notifies the user of the actual number of likes then later hides the replies entirely: Twitter user, @SkreenBuddy who goes by Good Guy on Twitter, replied to a tweet reporting on a European power frequency drop. The user replied to another commenter who was amazed at how well a German official predicted the event. Good Guy responded with the word "predicted" in quotes and a GIF depicting someone using air quotes. The reply to the tweet shows two likes at the time of writing but Good Guy revealed a screenshot showing Twitter sent notifications of 30 likes for the same reply. Twitter later made both replies invisible on the original post. One can see the comments only in Good Guy's "Tweets and Replies" page or by clicking on the comment he was replying to.
