Facebook suspends popular Libertarian commentator Eric July, again: Cofounder of Being Libertarian Eric July reported on Twitter that his Facebook page has been suspended again. The notice said that one of his posts was removed for "Hate Speech," which is the same notice he received when his page was suspended and demonetized just two weeks prior. However, Facebook once again did not indicate which post caused this trouble. July contacted Facebook Business via chat in order to try to gain some clarity on the situation. He reported that while the representative he was in a chat with could not definitively identify which posts were the source of the week-long suspension, she suggested that several of his posts could have resulted in mass-reporting by some of his followers that may have resulted in the suspension, and confirmed that the suspension would not be reversed sooner. The possible suspects that she mentioned included a post with profanity, which she claimed violates Facebook's Community Standards under the bullying and harassment section; another post in which he stated that people prior to the election were on suicide watch, which she claimed was a violation under the promoting self-harm section; and a post that read "Joe Biden and Kamala Harris are pieces of absolute dogshit as well," which she claimed "is considered as Hate Speech to any person." As a result of the continuing problems with Facebook, July has reported that he will no longer be live streaming there or making any posts besides links to his videos on other platforms.
