Twitter slaps a warning label on New York Gallery Owner Eli Klein's tweet: Eli Klein, a purported New York art gallery owner who has been very critical of vaccine mandates, tweeted from his unverified account, a Science Magazine article which claims that "[h]aving SARS-CoV-2 once confers much greater immunity than a vaccine." He summarized the article when he tweeted: "'The risk of hospitalization [was] eight times higher among people with only vaccine-induced immunity, compared to people with natural immunity from having had Covid, with the Delta variant predominate." Twitter placed a warning label on the tweet, that read "[t]his Tweet is misleading. Find out why health officials consider COVID-19 vaccines safe for most people," with a link to a feed filled with tweets from the FDA, the Centers for Disease Control and the World Health Organization. The platform also prevented users from commenting on, liking, retweeting or sharing the tweet on other sites. Users can quote tweet Klein's tweet only after being presented with a pop-up box with the same warning information. Twitter singled out Klein's tweeting of the article and has not yet placed warning labels over other users' tweets of the same article.
