A video featuring Dr. Knut Wittkowski, the former head of biostatistics, epidemiology and research design at Rockefeller University and a well-known advocate for the concept of herd immunity, was deleted from YouTube. Dr. Wittkowski argued in the video that lockdown and social distancing measures were counterproductive to achieving herd immunity, which he identified as the best way to combat the ongoing pandemic. YouTube said the video was in violation of its guidelines covering COVID-19 misinformation because it "explicitly disputes the efficacy of global or local health authority recommended guidance on social distancing that may lead others to act against that guidance."
