Dr. David Samadi, a well-known urologist and leader in the use of robotic surgery for prostate cancer, had a Tweet deleted and was locked from using his account for 12-hours. The sanctions came as a result of a tweet Dr. Samadi put out, which included optimistic words on Trump's health condition and an endorsement for the effectiveness of hydroxychloroquine when the virus is caught early. "President Trump is 74 years old going on 30 years old when it comes to stamina and health. While I am praying for President Trump, I'm confident he will make a quick recovery. They caught this virus early & when caught early it can be treated with HCQ, zinc and Zpack." Dr. Samadi tweeted. Twitter locked Dr. Samadi from using select account features, such as tweeting, retweeting, following and liking, and also deleted his tweet, for what the platform said was a violation of Twitter's policy on spreading misleading and potentially harmful information related to COVID-19.
