Facebook fact-checks British cardiologist Dr Aseem Malhotra's post, extends suspension to three days: Facebook extended British Cardiologist Dr. Aseem Malhotra's suspension to three days, according to GB News and Reclaim the Net. The platform initially suspended Malhotra for 24 hours after he shared a post by Florida Surgeon General Dr. Joseph Ladapo about a new analysis on COVID-19 mRNA vaccines. The platform then fact-checked one of Malhotra's older posts. The flagged post consisted of a video he made where he called for COVID-19 vaccines to be suspended until all the raw data from the trials was released for an independent analysis. Facebook claimed the post contained "partly false information" and linked to an article by Health Feedback. In a post about the incident, Malhotra called Facebook "an enemy of democracy" saying "The fact checking only goes in one direction." Facebook also recently censored a post by Maajid Nawaz for referencing a review of data about the COVID-19 vaccines written by Malhotra.
