Twitter attached a label, also known as a "public interest notice," on top of one of President Donald Trump's tweets updating the American people on his COVID-19 status. "A total and complete sign off from White House Doctors yesterday. That means I can't get it (immune), and can't give it. Very nice to know!!!" Trump's tweet read. Twitter replaced the president's tweet with a public interest notice indicating the tweet violated Twitter rules about spreading "misleading and potentially harmful information related to COVID-19." However, the notice also said Twitter determined it was in the public's interest for the tweet to remain accessible. User's must click through the notice in order to view the tweet. The notice also links to a Twitter-curated page of "trusted" external sources containing additional information on the claims made in the tweet. According to The Verge Twitter also disabled some sharing options on the tweet.
