President Donald Trump permanently banned from Twitter: Twitter finally dropped the hammer on President Donald Trump's account, permanently banning him for rhetoric the platform says risks further incitement of violence after the Capitol in D.C. was overtaken by pro-Trump protesters. Trump came under fire from tech companies and platforms after his critics argued statement's from him incited the attack on the Capitol. Among those statements were tweets from Trump — posted by him amidst the ambush — imploring protesters on Capitol Hill to “go home in peace” while simultaneously empathizing with their plight, continuing his complaints about election security and highlighting  Vice President Mike Pence’s decision not to block the certification of electoral college votes.
