Twitter censors user for speaking against COVID-19 narrative: A Twitter user shared a screenshot of his censorship notice. After it was announced that Elon Musk was planning to purchase Twitter, the user was among a group who sought to immediately test the idea that Twitter's censorship would have already been relaxed, despite the fact that the deal was a long way from closing and Musk had no control over Twitter whatsoever at that point. The user therefore tweeted: "Testing out Twitter's new free speech protection... MASKS DON'"T PREVENT SPREAD. THE BOOSTED SEE HIGHER INFECTION RATES THAN THE UNVAXXED. THE RISK TO KIDS OF SEVERE OUTCOME FROM COVID IS VANISHINGLY SMALL, SO THEY DON"T NEED TO BE VAXXED. Check back in an hour or so." Twitter, not under Musks' control, found that his tweet violated its rules against "spreading misleading and potentially harmful information related to COVID-19" and locked his account. He noted that "Twitter tells me my account has been locked. I must've taunted the censors too soon." The user had to delete the tweet in order to unlock his account.
