David Ramsden-Wood was restricted on LinkedIn after several of his posts about the coronavirus were marked as false information. The content of his posts challenged the mainstream narrative about the deadliness of COVID-19. In one of them Ramsden-Wood uses a robustly fact-checked claim that the Center for Disease Control (CDC) quietly changed its data to reflect that only 6% of deaths were caused by COVID-19 alone. A fact-check of this claim from FactCheck.org quotes the CDC's explanation that states, "For 6% of the deaths, COVID-19 was the only cause mentioned." Ramsden-Wood attempted to appeal his restriction but was eventually denied, leaving his account unable to perform actions essential to having a presence on the platform.
