On the day of London's mayoral election, Facebook suspends candidate David Kurten: Facebook imposed a 7 day suspension on Heritage Party candidate for London mayor David Kurten's account. Facebook flagged five posts dating back to October 2020 posted on Kurten's individual page, as well as the Heritage Party account, according to screenshots he posted on Twitter and a report from LifeSiteNews. "I have been given a 7 day ban from posting on Facebook on the day of the London Mayor and Assembly Elections," Kurten tweeted alongside the screenshots. "This is an outrage and an attack on free speech and democracy." Kurten is the founder and leader of the pro-life and pro-family Heritage Party. He told LifeSiteNews that on the day Facebook levied its suspension he had shared two posts about COVID-19, "one which explained how the developers of the COVID-19 injections have no liability for the drugs, while the second expressed his, and the Heritage Party’s, firm opposition to lockdowns and vaccine passports," LifeSiteNews reported. Referencing the timing of the suspension, Kurten called the suspension "an outrage and an attack on free speech and democracy,” according to LifeSiteNews.
