YouTube restricts famous YouTuber 'vlogger' David Dobrik from running ads after member of his team accused of sexual-assault: David Dobrik has made a name for himself video blogging, or "vlogging," his life to millions of fans across YouTube and other platforms. Dobrik's YouTube channel, which holds a staggering 18.5 million followers, was blocked from running ads after a member of Dobrik's vlogging crew came under fire over allegations of sexual harassment. "We have strict policies that prohibit sexual harassment on YouTube and take allegations of sexual assault very seriously," a YouTube spokesperson said in a statement. "We have temporarily suspended monetization on David Dobrik and Durte Dom channels for violating our Creator Responsibility policy.” The allegations are of an unwanted sexual encounter between the victim and Dom Zeglaitis, a.k.a. Durte Dom, in 2018, according to Variety. The victim said she was "too drunk to consent to sex," according to Variety's reporting. For his part, Dobrik had shot and posted a video of the woman entering a bedroom. Dobrik later admitted that even though he got consent to post the video he “should have never posted it,” according to Variety. Dobrik said that he now understands the victim consented to the video's posting "because she felt like she had to, not because she wanted to," and apologized for putting the victim and her friends "in an environment that [he] enabled that made them feel like their safety and values were compromised."
