YouTube underreports the views on a video discussing Russia’s success in the Ukrainian War: Danny Haiphong runs the YouTube channel, @theleftlens, where, according to his profile, he uploads “regular streams, videos, and interviews from an anti-imperialist and socialist perspective.” According to screenshots of his channel, which he posted on Twitter, one of his recent videos, entitled “Scott Ritter: Russia is WINNING in Ukraine as Zelensky BEGS for Weapons,” received 13,000 views within 5 hours. Screenshots of Haiphong’s YouTube analytics, however, show that YouTube reports only 4,000 views within that time frame. Haiphong called out the discrepancy between the views on his video and the number that YouTube analytics reports. YouTube did not give a reason for the discrepancy.
