Daniel Salgado

Facebook fact checks article citing 2000 Mules: Facebook fact-checked a post by Daniel Salgado on Oct. 25 that included a linked article citing the election fraud movie 2000 Mules. "Independent fact-checkers say this information has no basis in fact," the Facebook fact-check on the post says. A screenshot The Lead Stories article Facebook used to fact-check the post is from back in May. The article, "Oh, So It IS Reliable - FBI Used Geo-Tracking to Target Trump Supporters," published by Catherine Salgado on her personal Substack newsletter, discussed a reported recent admission by FBI Special Agent Jennifer Banks that the FBI used geo-tracking to target supporters of Donald Trump on Jan. 6, 2021. Many critiques of the movie 2000 Mules by Dinesh D'Souza and True the Vote said that the movie's evidence was invalid because it relied on geo-tracking, which critics claimed is too unreliable. The Lead Stories fact-check used by Facebook questioned the reliability of geo-tracking, but, since it is from May, it did not address the more recent development of Banks' testimony.
