Twitter censors account for a cat because it reported that the cat was a "Maine Coon mix of some kind": In another in a long string of incidents resulting from Twitter's faulty AI algorithm, a user reported, "So, my cat's Twitter account has been locked/blocked for well over a month now, pending an appeal, because either @Twitter or one of Carson's followers flagged his account for the post below for being racist because of the breed of cat he is (i.e. Maine 'COON')." The tweet, according to a screenshot that the user shared from his cat's account, read: "Maine Coon mix of some kind! But thank you, I am such a handsome floofer pie!" While typically the cat's account could be unlocked by deleting the tweet, if a user chooses not to delete a tweet and instead to appeal the decision, the account remains locked until the appeal is settled. In many cases, such as this, the appeal takes far longer than any account restriction would even last. The last tweet from the account was on January 12, and the user shared the censorship notice on March 1.
