Facebook places numerous restrictions on user: According to screenshots, the user posted a quote by Dr. Joseph Goebbels, which says, “It is the absolute right of the State to supervise the formation of public opinion. Think of the press as a great keyboard on which the government can play.” (It is not clear whether the user posted any visual content along with the quote.) Facebook instated multiple restrictions, according to screenshots of the user’s account. The restriction messages say, “You can’t advertise for 5 days,” “You can’t go live for 5 days,” and “You can’t start or join any calls for 5 days.” The reason Facebook gave the user for the ban was that the content “violated community standards.” About a week later, the user posted a quote by Noam Chomsky about Goebbels and Stalin only permitting speech they with which they agreed. Facebook did not institute any further bans or warning labels on the account. Facebook also sent a message to the user’s account that says, “We understand that mistakes happen, so we didn’t restrict your account.” However, the restrictions remain in place.
