The Trump-appointed commissioner of the Food and Drug Administration exposed the Biden administration on Fox News for seeking to censor potentially damning information about vaccines.
Fox News anchor Harris Faulkner asked FDA Commissioner Dr. Martin Makary why the prior administration failed to warn Americans, particularly young men, about the risk of heart inflammation from COVID-19 vaccines. Makary made clear that the administration didn’t just fail to do its job and warn the public, but tried to ensure that no one else warned Americans.
“It was part of the Biden medical establishment censorship complex,” Makary said on the Friday edition of The Faulkner Focus. “Because any information that related to complications of the vaccines or vaccine injuries was considered COVID-vaccine-hesitant content and so it was censored or blocked or slow-walked. And so we now have tragically this information that the heart inflammation that occurred in young, healthy men and boys was not disclosed as soon as it should have been and as a result, thousands of kids probably had this myocarditis complication and didn't have to have it.”
Last week, Makary unveiled that the FDA would only recommend booster shots for those 65 and older and younger people with high-risk factors. This decision came the same week as a report put out by Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI) and the Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations about vaccine side effects. Johnson said that the report showed how the administration tried to “downplay and delay warning the public about the risks of myocarditis associated with the mRNA COVID-19 vaccines."
Instead of warning the public, the Biden administration badgered social media companies into silencing constitutionally protected speech on the issue. MRC researchers showed just how extensive these efforts were in a report detailing 57 censorship initiatives of the Biden administration.
In 2022 alone, the National Institutes of Health spent hundreds of thousands of dollars working with tech-based censorship outfits to fight disfavored speech, as seen in initiative #19. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention put pressure on massive platforms such as Google and Facebook to embrace censorship, according to initiative #20.
In fact, President Joe Biden himself publicly participated in the pressure campaign, accusing Facebook of “killing people” by not censoring enough COVID-19 content.
The Trump administration has taken a different approach. On Monday, Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. followed up on Makary’s announcement by removing the COVID-19 vaccine from the vaccine schedule for children and pregnant women.
