Media Research Center (MRC) President David Bozell joined The Derek Hunter Show Friday afternoon to discuss Free Speech Week and the MRC’s 2026 Free Speech Week Award winner, Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

Hunter opened the segment by noting how Kennedy usually makes headlines only when others mention or attack him. Bozell agreed, emphasizing that aside from President Donald Trump, Kennedy remains one of the most censored public figures in America.

As someone who continuously faces censorship firsthand, including in his current role serving in the Trump administration, Kennedy earned this year’s award for his ongoing efforts to defend free speech. He warned that Washington politicians are relentlessly expanding the web of censorship, memorably describing federal overreach as a "gross orgy of censorship."

Award runners-up Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Office of Management and Budget Director Russ Vought have also stood on the front lines of this fight, battling the Jack Smith probe and relentless attacks from the leftist media elite.

Left-wing censorship is constant, and the pile of propaganda keeps growing. While the elitist media aggressively target Republican missteps, Democratic blunders are met with complete radio silence.

The MRC continues to expose this double standard and fight for the First Amendment rights of all Americans.
